Comanche Moon - Catherine Anderson This book is really so much more than a "romance." It delves into many of the harsh realities of this period between Native Americans and whites. The author doesn't shy away from some very tough themes - this book may not be for the faint of heart. While the gruesome is never described in detail (thankfully, IMO), many of these things are consistent themes throughout the book.

It is very clear that the author did her research on Comanches. And she did an excellent job conveying the attitues/perspectives of both sides (Indian and white) through the characters of Hunter and Loretta.

For multiple nights I read late into the night, long after I should have gone to bed. I had a hard time putting this one down at times, it was certinaly a page turner.
