Beautiful Bad Man - Ellen O'Connell **4.5**

Ellen O'Connell has done it again - this is the second of her books I've read and she is single-handedly getting me into western historical fiction. I've tried reading westerns before and have never fallen in love with anything, but I am really enjoying her books. I first read Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold and greatly enjoyed that (even more so the second time around) and between that and this one, I have a hard time deciding which I like better.

O'Connell's novels are strong, character-driven books, which I love. Norah and Caleb are both well developed and fully fleshed out characters and I enjoyed every moment I spent with them. Many of the secondary characters also had multiple layers to their personalities which makes them all the more human. O'Connell has a gift for creating characters that are incredibly true to life. I can't wait to read the rest of her books.
